• Can I meet you before I decide to book?

Absolutely! When you first get in touch we will find a mutually good time for a Meet and Greet. This is your opportunity to meet me and see if I’m the right person to look after your cat. It is also an opportunity for me to meet your cat and for you to show me what their needs are. There is no obligation to book at this stage.

  • How often will you visit my cat?

It is up to you whether I visit once or twice a day. Typically morning visits are between 8am and 10am and evening visits are between 5pm and 7pm. Sunday evening visits will be slightly later at around 7- 9pm. I am not able to make visits in the middle of the day.

  • How long will visits last?

Visits usually last up to 30 minutes unless you have booked an extended visit which lasts for 1 hour. Every cat is different and some may not be interested in attention or company so visits may be shorter or longer depending on your cat’s needs/mood.

I am not able to make visits in the middle of the day.

  • Can you administer medication?

I am not a veterinary professional but with detailed instruction and an amenable cat I am happy to administer any medications needed.

  • Should I leave the cat flap open?

If your cat is used to going outside then it is perfectly fine for them to continue doing so whilst you are away. The benefits of having a cat sitter is that there need not be any change to your cat’s usual routine. However cats can behave differently when their families are away and so may not be in when I visit. If you are worried about your cat’s comings and goings I can recommend app connected microchip cat flaps that will inform you when your cat is entering or leaving the house, or setting up security cameras to monitor the cat flap.

  • What happens if my cat is unwell?

I would be in immediate contact with you should anything happen to your cat whilst you are away. I have a cat carrier and my own transport should your cat need to go to the vet. I ask all owners to leave me with details of their preferred vet.

  • What happens if I’m delayed returning home after my holiday?

Your cat’s well-being is my priority and so of course should you be delayed let me know as soon as possible and I will arrange continue caring for your cat until you return.

  • Can you provide updates whilst I’m away?

Absolutely! I take photos and videos at every opportunity and will share them with you as often as you would like!

  • I am concerned about leaving my keys and access to my home with a stranger. How do I know i can trust you?

I will always recommend having a meet and greet session with new clients as this gives you the opportunity to see me in person and ask any questions you may have. I have looked after many different households and cats, many of whom are repeat customers. You can see some of their feedback here. You can also check out reviews on my Pawshake, Tailster and Rover profiles, where you can read feedback from past customers that has not been curated by me. I am also perfectly happy for you to put up security cameras in your home so that you can have extra peace of mind.

I keep keys in a special purse which is never left unattended and is trackable by me with an Apple AirTag. I do not put any keyring on your keys that could identify your home.

  • What is the booking and payment procedure?

Send me a message via my online contact form, WhatsApp or text message with the dates you would like to book. If I am available I will send you an online payment link and payment is due no later than the day before your booking is due to begin.

  • How far in advance do I need to book?

I would recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your holiday dates booked and with at least a week’s notice. Popular periods such as June- August, school holidays and bank holidays get booked up very quickly so for those times do book as far in advance as possible in order to secure my services.

  • What areas do you cover?

Any home that is within 10 minutes drive of either HP135SW (my home) or HP157AA (my workplace). If you are not sure please get in touch.

  • Are you insured?

Yes, I am insured with Protectivity which is underwritten by AXA. The plan includes:

    • public liability insurance

    • key cover

    • care, custody and control cover

    • non-negligent cover

  • What if my cat is nervous/aggressive/doesn’t like strangers?

During the Meet and Greet we can discuss in detail your cat’s temperament, their likes and dislikes and best ways to make them feel comfortable whilst you are away. I have looked after a number of anxious cats, some of whom I ended up becoming great friends with and others who I only saw a few times during the sit. I will always make an effort to make your nervous cat feel comfortable in my presence but also give them their space. You can read some case studies of nervous/aggressive cats I have looked after here.
